TV you can work with

I recently submitted the first "chapter" of my PhD thesis. I've always been someone who needs the distraction of TV in the background to keep me focused on work. While doing the actual writing (about 4 weeks work) I watched Season 2 of Alias, Season 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 1 of The West Wing, and Season 7 of Friends. Of course I've seen them all before, though this was only the second watching of Alias, so it was easy to keep going. What do you watch when you just need something good in the background?

I can watch episodes of "What Not to Wear" any number of times, and with some embarrassment I admit, "Say Yes to the Dress." Great background noise. Yay for the first chapter!

Friends, Arrested Development, The Office or Coupling (British version). It seems as though we rotate through these 4 on a continual cycle, just watching the next episode when we need something on.

And congrats on all your hard work!

The Office is my background tv show for studying.

Mad Men, Willie Wonka and strangely, the movie You've Got Mail. I'm with you, I need that noise to work better.
